We hid one, found one & loved the time there!

Dinosaur Park

Run, run, run!!  We ran over to the other side to hide this fun little box.

Precious Moments

Love Precious Moments, had to hide a box. This moated castle? A view from where the box is hidden. I want to run away there and live!

Secret box

Well, not really secret, it's logged in & out there to find. But secret from my Gram. We hid this on our way out of Northfield, NH- heading back to Joplin, MO. Pictured is "zTurtle" my mom. And she's making sure the paperclip and yarn doesn't drop the box down deep.

Can't go that deep actually, but if you are short like my mom, it could cause an issue!

Going Biking on the Hiawatha

We did the Hiawatha trail (pictured is our friend Mountain Sue & my husband) and what a blast!!
We had one stamp ready to go and hide, but plan to go back and hide even more along this bike trail. It was AWESOME!!!
For those of you who might be traveling to ID & MT- you can rent bikes & lights should you not bring yours. It's worth it- I promise!

Critter's take the Sky!

And even though it was so very cold, snowing off and on, there were still bugs flying around. Bug spray would be very good in the warmer months!
It was a lovely time of spending a full morning 'boxing. We've been hiding so many, since not many are around us & we've found all of the ones that are.

Birthday Wishes: Jenny

We almost got caught by 2 hikers. Exciting times!!

Shake off a tail feather

It's Snow Joke

Seemed appropriate to place today since it was snowing while we we out on the trail. We passed a guy coming out and he said to be careful if we were going to the falls because it was snowing pretty bad- he's fallen! Yikes.

Birthday Wishes: Bryce

We've been sitting on this for almost a month, but finally hid it today. In honor of my nephew's birthday- plan on having him find it when he comes out to visit this summer.

Birthday Wishes: Tony

In honor of my baby brother's birthday. I knew we were going to hide one, but I had no idea where- then the perfect spot presented itself.

Go to Fort Missoula and find a nice spot to park. It's a great place to take a picnic on a nice day. Plenty of open grassy areas and a lot you can visit-- you shouldn't get bored.

Once you are ready to start looking, search for building 334, Powder Magazine.

Once you read about this, you will understand why this was the perfect place. My family is from Texas- and not just any part of Texas, Fort Hood. (Family of Army brats.) Read the sign to see the significance of this building. Walk around the east side to the back of the building. About 5 steps in, once you turn the corner, you will want to bend down low and remove 2 loose rocks at dirt level. That's where's Tony's birthday wish is.

Ravalli's Red ghost

Find the Riverside Cemetery (please remember to be respectful while you are here.) When you do watch out for wildlife! We saw about a dozen head of deer while we strolled through.

You will want to find Oscar & Mildred Enebo. In what protects then you will find this ghost nestled in the center covered with leaves and bark.

Many Hats

When we first saw this ranch with the hats, I loved it. I knew I wanted to make a letterbox to place close by. The cemetery was a perfect spot, just up a bit from the hats.

While looking for the LB, please be respectful- it is in a cemetery. Thanks!

The Nater

HDangeruss Splats

Today was a great day to go out Letterboxing. However, we've found all the ones we can in the area (minus 2 but snow prevents that from happening- at least till March or so) so we hid several instead.

This one is for my son and his father. The splat comes from their mutual love of paintball. The spot-- a new found spot to me, but not to my son and my husband. They both agreed that HDangeruss would love it. The plan to have him hunt for it on his next trip here.

Birthday Wishes: Grammie

For my Grammie's birthday. Sending her my love from Montana, across to US to New Hampshire.

Included in the clues (on both AtlasQuest & Letterboxing) is a cryptograph-- my favorite puzzles of all, thanks to her!

Think Spring (Montana)

Think Spring seemed appropriate as we want to LB and there is snow on the ground! We took this to our favorite hiking trail. After sliding around, we turned back and hid it in an area where it was easier to get to! No slipping and sliding! (At least till the snow levels get higher!)

Find Bear Creek trail head. When you park your car, find the place you want to visit before you head out on the trail. Look towards 230 degrees. You will see a tall pine. Go to it. From the back of the pine go 10 steps at 217 degrees. Think Spring is under a rock- ready to come out!!!

Please be sure to reseal bag carefully. The snow can leak into the box & baggies if they aren't sealed good!!

Birthday Wishes: Janet

Find the Demmons fishing access. Look for the regulation sign. From here you can see a gorgeous view of the river and sometimes herds of deer, Bruce & his family, and even an occassional elk. The day that we placed this it looked like Bruce & his family had just been there. Fresh moose tracks everywhere!!

From the regulation sign look towards 208 degrees. Go 17 steps, but be careful- you'll be close to an edge! See the tree? Crawl to the base, and hanging off the ground, on the back side of the tree, you will find Janet's birthday wish. You will end up close to nature- not advised to do if it's been raining!! However, even in the snow, the LB should be accessible since it's hanging about a foot or so up from the ground.

Ollie the Osprey

Ollie is the mascot of a team in Missoula. Find the "home" of this team. Once you are there park towards the area where you would park if you paid for it during one of the games. You can see a trail, and that is where you need to start.

Walk until you see a stone with the name Mary Jean on it. This stone offers a clue of where Ollie is hiding out. From this stone take 45 paces to the left. on the right hand side of the trail you can see tresses. Find the farthest left corner pole. Now Ollie's hideout has been discovered!!

Fun Fact:
In the middle of the field, atop one of the lights, Ollie makes his home. Be sure to look for him during games- we've seen him at every game we've gone to!

Frogi in Elk Meadows

In Lolo find the turn off for highway 12. Go West toward's the hot springs. You'll go about 10 miles to Elk Meadows. Turn left and continue about 2 miles. On the left, right before the 2 mile cut off is a turn out. Park there.
Find the "No vehicle" sign. With your back against it, take 31 steps forward. Once there, walk towards the sky till you come to a perfect "once upon a treehouse" place. Go 'round back and under rocks and bark you will find our hideout.
